THE BEST WAY TO WASH YOUR BEARD

THE BEST WAY TO WASH YOUR BEARD Life is good. Your beard is growing in great, and your boss is being unusually cool. As you stroll through the office in route to recharge your coffee; it hits you…a combination of stale beer, that steak you ate on Saturday, and a splash of old perfume. What.The.Hell. It’s Tuesday, but your beard smells like the weekend. As a well-groomed gentleman, this is clearly not okay. We receive a lot of questions about beard care and maintenance. One of the most popular questions relates to cleaning the beard. What is the best beard shampoo? Is there a great natural beard wash? How do I properly wash my beard?
BEARD WASHING BASICS
Washing your beard is easy, but if not done properly, it will dry your beard out and make it more abrasive. Wash your face every day, but not your beard. As men, we have naturally oily skin. To keep things clear and healthy, you should wash your face twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed. Your beard is a different story. …

9 Tips for Autumn Beard Care

While it’s true that a beard can frame a man’s face nicely and make him look even more attractive, it’s important to know that beard also deserves some care and love in order to look and feel great this autumn. Ditching the razor and the regular shaving routine will definitely result in beard growth, but it takes a lot more than that to keep it fresh and appealing. Moreover, as autumn is upon us, it’s important to mention that having a beard is not enough protection from cold weather, and you’ll need some effective skincare as well. Below are 9 tips to help you this autumn.

Start with a regular wash

Throughout the year, it’s essential to wash your face twice a day – in the morning and evening. While warmer seasons might allow the use of some harsher products, autumn and winter provide harsh conditions for your skin already. In that respect, it would be great to opt for a natural face wash that is gentle on your face and won’t strip your skin and beard of their natural oils.

Moisturise your skin

Again, proper hydration is a must for healthy and youthful-looking skin all year round. Therefore, don’t skip your skincare regime in autumn just because you’ve decided to grow your beard stronger and thicker. This won’t protect your face enough. Keep your natural moisturiser in the bathroom, so that you can quickly apply it as soon as you’re finished with the face wash.

Water temperature

Some people enjoy washing their face with cold water to wake them up, while some love to splash their face with almost hot water during colder autumn days. Both of these water temperatures are bad for the skin, which can cause it to dry out. Instead, wash your face with lukewarm water, and that way the beard balm you’re using will have its best effect as well.

Protect when you go out

Autumn weather is unpredictable, and sometimes it might be too warm for a scarf that would protect your beard and neck, but still cold enough to cause dry and frizzy look. If you want to ensure your beard grows healthy and strong, make sure you use beard oil regularly, so that there’s some kind of a barrier between the hair follicle and coldness of the outdoors.

Trim the beard regularly

Just because you’ve decided to rock the beard it doesn’t mean that you should say goodbye to regular trims forever. Like hair, if left untended for a longer period of time, the beard will start to grow in various directions and you’ll have an uneven look with many fly away hairs sticking out. Make sure to visit your barber on time, or get yourself special beard scissors or straight razor, so that you can groom and trim your beard on your own.

Trim your upper cheeks

In order to keep your beard looking tidy and neat, it’s important to trim your upper cheeks. Simply shave any rogue hairs around the sideburns and cheeks. Avoid the temptation to shave the top of the beard line too low – it should look tidy, but natural. To get the best results, we recommend using a straight cut-throat razor.

Don’t clean shave your neck

One of the most common mistakes that guys make when trimming, is shaving their neckline too high. Even though a lot of guys believe that a harsh, definite line under your beard will give an illusion of a jaw – it doesn’t. We advise following the natural boundary of hair without moving it further away from the original position.

Keep the beard tangle-free

Again, you’d never leave your home without combing your hair first, right? Show the same respect for your beard. Make sure to comb it through gently so that there are no tangles that could potentially damage the quality of your beard and make it look messy and unruly. If you do get tangles in your beard easily, don’t forget to slip a beard comb into your pocket so that you can tend to any problems on the go.

Make things easier

In all honesty, men don’t really like to spend a lot of time taking care of their skin and beard. But, even though it might be tedious for some, such a regime is essential if you want to keep your look neat and nice, not to mention healthy. To make things easier, you can always make your own grooming kit where you’ll keep all your necessities within reach and that way finish treatments quickly and efficiently. And, the same grooming kit can be a great solution for men who travel a lot.
During autumn it’s absolutely essential to take skin and beard-care more seriously because it will only get more difficult once winter is here. Establishing your beard and skincare routine shouldn’t take you more than 5-10 minutes every day. Take the time to get to know your skin and hair type so that you can choose the products that would work perfectly for your particular needs.
